Auckland PHO Read Code and Snomed Concept List

The Auckland PHO reference list of commonly used classification codes to support clinical workflow and encourage greater standardisation has been updated.

The following updates have been made to the existing reference list:

  • Read Codes have been reviewed and updated

  • SNOMED Concepts have been introduced for Indici users, with parent codes used where clinically appropriate

  • The list has been expanded to include a set of commonly used codes for cancers, renal conditions, and mental health

Important Notes

  • MedTech Evolution users: Please note that the descriptions for Type 1 (C108) and Type 2 (C109) Diabetes Mellitus, are "Insulin Dependent" and "Non-Insulin Dependent" Diabetes Mellitus, respectively.

  • Classifications in the reference list which still require ratification have been itemised in red text.

Siobhan is delivering laminated copies of the lists to practices and will update clinicians

The Classification codes are here.

Influenza Vaccine Ordering

Influenza vaccines will be available for ordering shortly. The current funded vaccine available is Influvac Tetra.

Ordering

  • Orders are placed through Healthcare Logistics (HCL).

  • Preferred ordering method: via the HCL website portal.

  • Orders can also be placed via email to flu@healthcarelogistics.co.nz, however a $10 processing fee applies for email orders.

  • Vaccine is supplied in packs of 10 doses.

Logistics

  • Please remember to return polystyrene vaccine transport containers via couriers or to any Mitre 10 outlets once deliveries are unpacked.

Practices will also be receiving reminder communications regarding influenza ordering and programme readiness.

As influenza season places increased demand on vaccine refrigerators and stock management processes, a Cold Chain Network Update is attached to support you preparing for increased vaccine volumes. This includes reminders around fridge capacity, airflow, stock management, and temperature monitoring ahead of the influenza programme.

Auckland PHO Staff Update

We are pleased to welcome Dharma Gopalakrishnan, who has recently joined Auckland PHO as our new Executive Assistant, providing support to both the Auckland PHO team and our practice network.

Alison Brown, our Primary Care Nurse Advisor, has resigned from her role at Auckland PHO, effective 11 March. We thank Alison for her contribution and wish her all the best for the future.

In the meantime, please contact Siobhan at siobhan@aucklandpho.co.nz for any primary care nursing enquiries.

N3 Card Update and Bunnings Power Pass

Trade Card Appn3 is transitioning the physical n3 Trade Card product exclusively to the mobile app. The app offers faster access, easier management, and greater efficiency.

  • Instant access: No production or mailing delays, download the app and start saving straight away.

  • Supplier offers: Limited-time and everyday offers can be added instantly, and you'll be notified.

  • Team access: Easily add or remove app access for your team so they can use the n3 discount on cash purchases.

  • Better for the environment: Reduced printing, postage, and plastic waste.

What you need to do:

  • No action is required for existing Trade Card users; you should already have access to an n3 Trade Card app. If not, download it from the App Store or Google Play.

  • Adding new staff? If you need to give access to new team members, log in to n3.co.nz and follow our step-by-step guide.

If you do not have a N3 Card or want to know more, please contact ashley@aucklandpho.co.nz

Bunnings PowerPass: To continue receiving your n3 Trade Card discounts at Bunnings, you'll need to migrate to Bunnings PowerPass.  Alternatively, you can set up a Bunnings credit account.

  • More functionality: Check live pricing, confirm product availability, use self-checkout, and keep digital receipts all in one place.

  • Simple to set up: Registering for a PowerPass account is quick and easy and can be used at Bunnings stores nationwide.

  • Team access: Allocate PowerPass cards or app access to your team so they can continue using the n3 discount on cash purchases.

  • Tailored trade pricing: Your n3 pricing will be automatically applied to your PowerPass account.

What you need to do:

  • If you already have a PowerPass account, link it to n3 pricing by filling out this form. You'll need your n3 Account Number

  • If you don't have a PowerPass account, sign up for a new one to continue receiving your n3 discount. You'll need your n3 Account Number

Once your account is set up, you’ll receive your PowerPass card, and you can then activate your PowerPass app. For guidance and to learn more about the app’s features, view helpful videos and resources here.
