Latest Primary Care Funding Offer from Health NZ	The latest Health New Zealand funding offer, following feedback from general practice, PHOs, and PSAAP negotiators, has now been provided to Auckland PHO practices. As many of you will be aware, some practices were initially sent funding information that was incorrect. As a result, the 4 June offer was withdrawn. The subsequent 5 June offer has now been replaced by the revised 11 June offer, which includes a further $33.8 million investment to increase capitation rates by an additional 3.16%. This funding is intended to support fee stability for 2026/27 and increase the overall capitation funding pool to enable the proposed capitation reweighting. The current offer includes: • An additional $33.8 million to increase capitation rates by a further 3.16% and support capitation reweighting.• An additional $2.3 million to increase Community Services Card (CSC) and Under-14 capitation rates.• $1.9 million to increase immunisation fees by 3.16%.• Reweighting of capitation funding to better reflect patient need.• A 3.16% increase in rural funding, at a cost of $0.9 million.• Transitional support funding of $18.0 million to ensure every practice receives a minimum increase in capitation funding of: 4.0% for VLCA practices 4.46% for non-VLCA practices The differing minimum increases reflect the different contribution that patient fees make to overall practice revenue. An additional $10 million for performance-based funding for general practice. The specific arrangements for this funding are yet to be agreed. We strongly recommend that at least one representative from each practice attends one of the upcoming webinars before casting your vote. These sessions will provide further detail on the offer and allow practices to ask questions before making a decision. Please note that there are only two voting options: Yes or No. A No vote means that practices will receive only the base 3.16% funding uplift, with none of the additional funding outlined above. Non-VLCA practices would also be able to increase patient fees by 3.16%, plus apply any residual banked fee increases from previous years that have not yet been utilised. Data & Digital Platform Update (Auckland PHO)	We are pleased to share that Auckland PHO’s new Data & Digital Platform (currently unnamed) is now approaching launch. The platform has been designed to provide a simpler, more intuitive experience for practices and will ultimately replace Mōhio for reporting and claiming functions. Rollout will occur in stages, with implementation tailored to each practice management system (PMS) and practice requirements to ensure a smooth transition. Practices will receive information directly about their planned go-live timeframe, along with training requirements. We anticipate that training will be straightforward and streamlined,  reflecting the platform’s user-friendly design and streamlined functionality. While development has taken longer than originally anticipated, we have used this additional time to thoroughly test the platform and strengthen data quality, reporting accuracy, and system reliability. As a result, we are confident that practices can have trust in both the integrity of the data and the ease of using the new system. We expect all practices to have transitioned to the new platform by August and look forward to introducing this important enhancement to our practice network in the coming weeks.
Updated Scabies Advice on Household Decontamination and Treatment	Scabies advice has been updated on HealthPathways.  There is a new HealthEd patient information sheet which includes: Step by step guide to treatment Graphics on decontaminating household items Key points First-line treatment is permethrin cream, applied twice, one week apart, for all household members. A shower or bath is not required before application. Bedding, car seats, towels, toys and clothing used in the 4 days before treatment need to be decontaminated at the same time. If sheets and pillowcases are used, then duvets, mattresses, and pillows do not need to be washed Put dry items in the dryer on HOT for at least 10 minutes. Freeze for at least 5 hours (could be overnight). Seal in a plastic bag for 4 days. Soft furnishing and carpets should be vacuumed.
