Health NZ Funding Agreement	As advised on Friday, the PSAAP Heads of Agreement has now been endorsed in principle by all parties following extensive sector consultation. The majority of PHOs and contracted providers have indicated their support for the proposed agreement. Overall, 86% of practices, representing 85.5% of enrolled patients, voted in favour of the proposal. This level of participation reflects the significant engagement across the sector and demonstrates the commitment of both PHOs and contracted providers to achieving a sustainable outcome for general practice. While the agreement does not address every issue raised during negotiations, it represents a pragmatic step forward and provides a foundation for further work on several important areas. What Happens Next? The focus now shifts to implementation and the development of the detailed arrangements required to give effect to the agreement. Key next steps include: Development and agreement of detailed contractual clauses. Updating payment systems to enable the revised capitation rates to be paid from 1 July 2026. Further work on key areas identified during consultation, including: Refreshing the Rural Funding Working Group. Finalising the performance framework, clinical indicators, and performance-based capitation measures. Addressing under-servicing and access issues through a dedicated working group. All parties have acknowledged the considerable effort invested by sector partners throughout this process and the constructive approach taken to balancing a wide range of perspectives and priorities. We appreciate the engagement of Auckland PHO practices throughout the consultation process and will continue to keep you informed as detailed agreements are finalised and implementation progresses. We will update practices on updates as information becomes available.
Introducing Our New Data Digital Platform – Webinar Invitation	We are continuing to make good progress on Auckland PHO’s new digital reporting and claiming platform (name to be confirmed), which will progressively replace Mōhio during July. The new platform has been designed with practices in mind, providing a simpler, more intuitive experience for reporting, claiming, and accessing practice information. Rollout will occur in stages, allowing implementation to align with individual Practice Management Systems (PMS) and practice readiness. We anticipate all practices will have transitioned to the new platform by August. To help familiarise practices with the platform before go-live, we invite all practice staff to attend a network webinar where we will provide a demonstration of the system and answer any questions. Immunisation Claiming Update	Practices are required to apply a PMS update prior to July 1st, which introduces new electronic claiming codes for vaccine co-administration fees. This required action comes as part of a Health New Zealand national coordinated release and must occur between 24 June - 30 June. This also means that any manual back-payment process currently managed by Health NZ will be cutoff from 1 July. After liaising with PMS vendors, Auckland PHO can confirm the following actions required for each PMS type: PMS Type Action Medtech Evolution Local Server Practices must apply the version 9.0 update prior to 1 July and should contact arrange this with their IT provider once version 9.0 becomes available Medtech Evolution Cloud Practices Supported by TMG will receive this update automatically with the version 9.0 update Indici All Practices will have the update applied automatically by Valentia MyPractice All Practices will have the update applied automatically by MyPractice For any queries, please contact your PMS vendor directly. Northern Region Workforce Hub – Planned Care Training Support Coming Soon	As highlighted in Friday Facts on 19 June,  new Workforce Hubs have been established to coordinate and deliver training and support across the primary and community health workforce. This is an exciting development for the sector, and the Northern Region Workforce Hub is already progressing its first initiative – funding support for GP planned care training. The programme is intended to support GPs to undertake training that enables more planned care services to be delivered within general practice, including procedures that may traditionally have been provided in a hospital setting. Funding is expected to be available to assist with: Course fees Backfill or locum cover Travel and accommodation costs where required The objective is to build capability within general practice so that more care can be delivered closer to home, improving access and convenience for patients while helping to reduce pressure on hospital services. The Workforce Hub is currently finalising the programme and application process. We will keep practices informed and provide further details, including eligibility criteria and how to apply as soon as the initiative goes live.
