Pertussis Epidemic	You will all be aware that a National Pertussis Epidemic has been declared. Action Required: Boostrix Vaccinations & Vaccine Register We urge you to: Promote Boostrix vaccinations: Encourage hāpu māmā (pregnant people) to receive the free Boostrix vaccine from 16 weeks of pregnancy. Recommend vaccinations for extended whānau of babies and infants. Prioritise timely immunisations: Ensure infants receive their pertussis vaccines on schedule at 6 weeks, 3 months, and 5 months, with boosters at 4 years and 11 years. Encourage staff protection: Staff, particularly those in contact with infants, should be up to date with pertussis vaccinations.  Check staff vaccination status and if any in your team require boostrix and MMR – we encourage immunisation.  Costs associated with their immunisation(s) will be covered by Auckland PHO.  Please send an invoice with the name of the person immunised and the usual fee charged for an unfunded immunisation to suzanne@aucklandpho.co.nz Notify Aaron Piano - aaron@aucklandpho.co.nz of vaccination updates or assistance required for compliance. Holiday Hours and Closures	Every year, we are required to ensure our practices have: Updated their holiday opening hours on their Healthpoint page by Monday 2nd December 2024 Reviewed and Updated Auckland PHO Summer Planning Checklist, and Updated your practice Business Continuity Plan (BCPs) If you haven’t already done so, please attend to the three points above.
