Public Health Advisory – Macrolide resistant Bordetella pertussis (MRBP) | Please see the Public Health Advisory alerting clinicians to an emerging issue with Macrolide-resistant Bordetella pertussis (MRBP).
MRBP has recently been detected in Aotearoa and the National Public Health Service (NPHS) is currently assessing the situation and gathering expert local and international advice to inform future decisions.

Influenza vaccination support for Auckland PHO Practices
| The busy influenza season is almost which is a busy time for practices. Auckland PHO would like to offer a range of options to support you to maximise vaccinations. Practice funding allocation will be based on the size of a practice (i.e. the number of patients enrolled).

Community Podiatry for people with diabetes – small change to eligibility
| There have been recent changes to the contract Auckland PHO has with Te Whatu Ora. While these changes do not directly impact on practices, this is provided for noting.
Patients who have been assessed as having a moderate diabetes foot risk will be eligible for one assessment over a 12-month period. The Podiatrist can request additional follow up appointments if clinically indicated or another referral can be made at the next diabetes annual review appointment.
Patients who have been assessed as having a high diabetes foot risk will be eligible for one assessment and three follow up appointments.

M2M (Mild to Moderate) Mental Health Service – eligibility
| The M2M programme is funded by Te Whatu Ora and is designed to provide early intervention and treatment for enrolled patients presenting with mild to moderate mental health conditions.
Funded Extended Consultations It is expected that the patient pays for the usual practice co-payment when first seeking medical advice (at the initial consult). If during this consultation, the GP or NP identifies a mild to moderate mental health issue and more time is needed to discuss therapy, a $45 claim can be made for all enrolled patients 12+ years.
Please note eligibility for patients receiving a package of care (up to 4, one-hour sessions with a therapist):
