National Primary Care Dataset and the Health New Zealand Information Sharing Agreement
| National Primary Care Dataset and the Health New Zealand Information Sharing Agreement The Primary Care Dataset is a tool to help strengthen Primary Care services across New Zealand and Health NZ are working with the Primary Care sector to establish the National Primary Care Dataset. The National Primary Care Dataset will hold information collected from general practices, to build a clearer, more consistent picture of how general practice/Primary Care is working, its relationship and impact on other parts of the system and where improvements are needed. Noting if you chose not to be included in the Information Sharing Arrangement, contingent capitation will cease from 30 June 2026. Data will be used from 1 July 2026 to inform the Primary Care Health Target reporting and will be published in December 2026. We appreciate that the Agreement will evoke many questions and our team will work closely with practices and sector partners to ensure that the transition is as straightforward as possible. We will continue to provide guidance and support where needed. There will be more detail and an opportunity to ask questions at the Auckland PHO Zoom Meeting on Thursday 19 March 6.30 – 8pm.
