Medinz – Awanui Labs Auckland – Festive Season Opening Hours

In case you missed the Medinz Message re Awanui Labs Festive Season Opening Hours:

To accommodate the reduced demand during the holiday season and to support staff, Awanui Labs have adjusted the operating hours for collection centres. During the December holidays, some centres will operate with reduced hours or may temporarily close.  Specific details are available (by district) on the Awanui Labs website.

From 1 January to 1 February 2026, most centres will operate under summer hours, opening from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays at selected locations. Normal hours will resume across all centres on Monday, 2 February 2026.

Over the holiday period, our courier schedule will be slightly adjusted.  Between Monday, 22 December and Sunday, 4 January, your driver may arrive at a different time than usual.  Please keep an eye out for pickups that may occur earlier or later than normal.  Regular courier operations will resume on Monday, 5 January.

Thank you for your understanding as Awanui Labs implement these changes to align with seasonal demand.

Infection Protection and Control Newsletter

Catch up on the December 2025 Infection Protection and Control Newsletter, sent last week from Aaron Piano - click here to read.

As we close out 2025, the Auckland PHO team would like to acknowledge your continued dedication to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).

Ongoing measles activity throughout the year has placed sustained pressure on primary care services. Your vigilance in protecting staff, maintaining safe triage processes, promoting vaccination, and consistently applying IPC practices has played a vital role in safeguarding both practice teams and the communities you serve.

Auckland PHO remains committed to supporting you with practical guidance, tools, and resources, including alignment with Auckland Region HealthPathways, national standards, and the latest clinical updates, as we move into 2026.

Auckland PHO Office Closure and on-call support

The Auckland PHO office will close at 5.00pm on 19 December 2025 and re-open on 5 January 2026.

For general enquiries, cold chain support, or M2M information, please call the Auckland PHO landline on (09) 379 4022.

Seasons Greetings from our team to yours. As we wrap up another year, we want to take a moment to wish you seasons greetings and happy holidays, that are truly well deserved.  Thank you for your membership and support throughout the year.  It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have you as part of our practice network whānau.  Your commitment and contribution to your patients (and each other) make Auckland PHO what it is, and we are grateful for the connection we share.
