| Most practices have now been onboarded to the new Auckland PHO Data & Digital environment, Mira. While the roll-out has gone smoothly for most practices, we are aware that some practices are experiencing issues. These are largely vendor and PMS-specific, and we are working closely with the relevant vendors and our Data & Digital team to resolve these as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience while these issues are worked through. Please be assured that we are actively following up on the outstanding issues and will keep practices informed of any significant developments. If you experience an issue, please log it through our Jira platform. This is the best way to ensure your issue is captured, followed up and tracked through to resolution. |
| Health New Zealand is piloting a Practical Access Support Package (PASP) to help reduce practical and financial barriers that can make it difficult for families to access healthcare and immunisation services. From 21 September 2026, Health NZ will contact the parents and caregivers of eligible children by SMS or email, providing information about the support package and how to access immunisation services. Communications will advise that families may be eligible for a $100 support voucher following a catch-up immunisation visit.
To be eligible, a child must:
The pilot will run from 1 October to 31 December 2026 and is expected to include approximately 1,000 eligible children nationwide. It recognises that costs such as fuel, transport and child car seats can be barriers to accessing immunisation and other healthcare appointments.
Please note that communications to families in the eligible cohort will be phased from 21 September 2026 onwards as contact details are confirmed.
Communications to families regarding eligibility should only be issued by the NPHS national team.
The pilot will be evaluated to assess whether this approach reduces access barriers and improves the timeliness of childhood immunisations. Please refer to the attached Information Sheet/FAQs for more details.
This information is for your awareness. For any queries, please contact the Practical Access Support Package team at pasp@tewhatuora.govt.nz. |
| Health New Zealand’s recent enrolment audit activity has identified a decline in the accuracy of enrolment data across some PHOs. Accurate enrolment information is important as it underpins capitation funding payments and helps ensure funding is appropriately allocated based on enrolled populations. To support accurate funding and maintain confidence in the enrolment system, Health NZ will be increasing its audit activity over the coming months. We encourage practices to regularly review their enrolment processes and records to ensure the information held in the National Enrolment Service (NES) is current and accurate. Auckland PHO undertakes internal audit checks to support practices in ensuring their enrolment processes are being correctly followed. We also provide enrolment training for new practice staff involved in enrolling patients, which is highly recommended. If you would like to arrange an enrolment audit or training, or would like to discuss your enrolment processes, please contact Shannon at shannon@aucklandpho.co.nz |
| Health NZ is inviting PHOs and general practices to join a national webinar to hear the latest updates on upcoming primary care information sharing initiatives and planned next steps. The webinar will provide an update on key information sharing initiatives, including the Shared Digital Health Record, the Primary Care Health Target and the National Primary Care Dataset, and outline next steps for timeframes, implementation, supporting information sharing agreements, and available funding. Date: Wednesday 23 September Time: 6pm Joining link: here (you don’t have to pre-register – join the webinar using this link on the night). There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
