Manage My Health Cyber Breach Update
| There is ongoing work and daily communication with PHOs that is underway to manage the MMH data breach, involving General Practice New Zealand (GPNZ), Manage My Health (MMH), and Te Whatu Ora. Practice Managers were sent an email last Friday outlining the number of patients impacted. Some practices have not been contacted directly by MMH, even though there are affected patients enrolled at their practice. This is because the practice is not an active MMH account holder. This situation may occur where a practice has moved from Medtech to another PMS, or where their PMS is not Medtech. Practices can contact MMH directly to request a list of their patients who were included in the breach by emailing:practicesupport@managemyhealth.co.nz MMH will request the following information:
Practices are also encouraged to record any time spent responding to patient enquiries relating to the breach. On behalf of practices, GPNZ will be approaching MMH to seek funding to cover time spent managing breach-related activity. The Manage My Health website contains up-to-date frequently asked questions, which practices can refer patients to. The link may also be added to your practice website: https://managemyhealth.co.nz/faqs-cyber-breach/ Please let barbara@aucklandpho.co.nz know if you receive patient queries or issues that need escalating.
