HPV Screening Implementation Update
There is a myriad of information coming out of the National Screening Programme regarding the new HPV Screening Service. We now have the finalised eligibility criteria for free HPV primary screening for priority groups, and free follow up testing for everyone, from 12 September. Further details regarding the funding model and claiming will follow.
Checklists for general practices will be shared next week. The National Cervical Screening Programme team are liaising with the PMS vendors to ensure the software releases will be deployed in time and progressing the required changes to claiming systems. We still have queries about the funding mechanism and coding required for practices to undertake the screening and we expect to have further clarity early next week.
