The GP Reference Group Purpose

The objective of the GP Reference Group is to advise the board on matters affecting General Practice.

The Auckland PHO GP Reference Group responsibilities are to:

• Canvas widely from the General Practice membership their response to PHO programmes, services and issues which impact on general practice and advise the board on GPs response
• Review PHO programmes, services and issues which impact on general practice and advise the board on GPs response
• Bring to the board’s attention actual and potential issues affecting general practice from GP’s perspectives
• Facilitate GP participations in Auckland PHO clinical governance processes
• Report to the board any issues arising from monitoring and/or audit of clinical safety and quality
• Advise the board of appropriate actions regarding these issues
• Provide governance level linkages to ensure new initiatives have GP input and support

Each GP committee member will liaise with an allocated group of practices and fairly represent their perspectives and views
